REMEMBER: You Are Always 1 Pitch Away From Getting Out of a JAM!

Spread the love

1 Pitch Away From Getting Out of a JAM!When the intensity gets dialed up, the adversity monster has appeared, and the game may be on the line, you have to Stay Positive. Keep in mind, that you are always 1 Pitch Away From Getting Out of a JAM ….even without allowing a run. Sometimes, you have to take what you can get… Other times, count your blessings and accept the good fortune.

If you see a difficult situation as dreaded and no way out…Well, guess what? You are correct!

When you realize that you have your work cut out for you and have to bear down to make better pitches, in an aggressive manner, while trusting your defense, the odds will be more in your favor. This attitude plays big. In baseball, and beyond.

Executing your pitches 1 at a time is all that you can control. How can you be 1 pitch away from getting out of a jam? Because, as the one with the baseball, you are Pro-Active. The hitter is Re-Active….To You of course…

Case in Point

1 Pitch Away From Getting Out of a JAM!Bases loaded, 1 out. You notice the hitter is pulling off pitches, trying to clear the bases. Now throw an off speed pitch down and away and you get the routine double play to get out of it unscathed. It can be that simple.

A good defense understands the circumstance and is fiending for the twin killing as well. When they see you are making the necessary pitches to get the double play, they may be a half step quicker in anticipation to getting to the ground ball. That’s also being a great teammate from your position.

Who Knows?

Maybe you will get involved in the defensive end. The 1-2-3 Double play to end the inning is NO DOUBT a game changer. Keep in mind, unconventional double plays are always in effect too. Though, not as common, just as effective.

Because You Are JUST BETTER

1 Pitch Away From Getting Out of a JAM!Here is another example…Bottom of the 9th. Winning run on 2B, 2 outs. Clean up hitter is in the box…He can still roll over on a pitch, pop it up, guess/react wrong and make himself look silly.

Moving on…

In tough situations, strikeouts are most ideal. However, don’t fear contact. Attack the zone early in the count and make good pitches to induce weak contact. That’s how you get out of it faster. Pitch to a hitters weaknesses, and that’s when you are more inclined to get the double play ball.

Keep making pitches until the last oneRemember, Stay in the MomentLook, I’ll be honest. It may take you another 20 pitches. It may take only 1. Pitch with the notion that only 1 is needed to end the inning at any time and less stress will occur. As a result, longer term success for both you and your team will follow.
