When in Doubt, COMPETE!!!

when in doubt competeWhen in Doubt, COMPETE! If you are unsure what to throw a hitter in any given spot, challenge him. CHALLENGE HIM! Make him hit the ball. Either see how far he can hit it, or how he can get himself out. Aggressively pound the zone and everyone can deal with the outcome. When you compete, you show the hitter that he has to match you, and work even harder to beat you. Obviously, the odds are in your favor as a pitcher. So naturally, it is a no brainer to compete in order to fulfill the superiority.

When in Doubt, COMPETE!!!
Clearing the Fog

However, we are humans on the mound. We may be indecisive, jittery, or just not feeling it that day. Therefore, when our mind tells our body to compete, that all disappears and the task at hand is the sole focus. Again, aggressively make pitches. That is how outs are recorded. Simple as that.

So when the mental fog of fear, frustration, or inadequacy shows up, respond to it. Move towards the dark cloud in order to come out successful! If you fall behind 3-1 to a hitter, focus on making a pitch to get it to 3-2. Then focus on making another pitch. Some see it as having to catch up. Although, it is still competing. I never said what pitch you have to make…You are the man in charge of that!

Live For It

Have fun with it! The thrill of Competing is why you play game! You cannot win unless you compete. The notion brings out the best in you, your teammates, and also your competition. Do your part to keep making baseball greatIf you don’t get the win that day, you have nothing to hang your head upon when you competed. When you are able to flip the switch and pull yourself out of a mental rut, your performance on that day is far more gratifying!

As you respond to the intensity of a high leverage situation, you can become 1 with it. The ability to stay in the moment, makes no task too big. All that matters is executing your pitches. You have elevated your frequency to match that of the circumstance. As the transition was made seamlessly, You are in it to win it….and you KNOW THAT YOU WILL!!!!
